The rocket story is the perfect setting for THE TWO PILLAR MAN test. Two massive pillars built at the entrance to Solomon’s temple were powerful symbols of two God-ordained principles to walking uprightly. These bronze statements are designed to develop unwavering character against any attack and will bring truth into tempting compromises that are continually stripping away men’s honor and respect.

“So I write that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” 1 Timothy 315 NKJV

Even though you might have blown something up, it doesn’t mean you have to blow it completely.

Two Pillar Man The Gospel of the Rocket Story edition by David Loveall Religion Spirituality eBooks

David Loveall personally handed this book to me almost a year ago and (with our hands both still connected to "Two Pillar Man", David asked that I follow through on one simple task. His request was very simple...so simple in fact that I thought I would comply immediately after reading Two Pillar Man. Before David's hand left the book, I verbalized that I would follow through 100%...no questions asked. So why is it that almost a year has passed and I have not yet honored my word? Well, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I am not the "Two Pillar Man" (TPM) that God desires me to me, nor the TPM that I believe I am. After I read TPM the first time, I convinced myself that I am an honest guy (I tell the truth and honor my commitments). That is until last week when I found myself not being truthful in multiple every-day life encounters. Like... 1) Realizing that the local hardware store missed an item in the bottom of my cart, that I then saw when unloading into my vehicle. I quickly threw the item into the bag (so my wife would not see) and I was proud of the fact that I was able to stick it to the hardware store. After all, I have spent hundreds of dollars at this store, so they owe me...right? 2) I purchased a newspaper this last Sunday (The Lord's Day) and yesterday, when the store clerk thought it was Saturday, so only charged me $1.00 instead of the Sunday price of $2.50. Who is going to miss $1.50? I snickered as I left the convenience store. Another win. 3) So, I trimmed my neighbor's tree (for a price). The thing then grew like crazy and it looked as though I never trimmed it. So, I told them that I would re-trim it at no charge. They were pleased as punch! I told a friend of mine last week about it and he said that it was been a strange growing year and that I should charge them and explain that they asked me to trim too early in the growing season. Great idea I thought and have been contemplating how much to charge and how to wiggle out of my commitment to not charge them again. Another win! Am I on a roll or what? 4) Went to lunch just today and saw two receipts on top of where people throw their paper straw wrappers. I picked them out of the receptacle (slyly so no one would notice). Why would I do this? Because, I can use the number off the receipt to fill out a survey and earn a free entree. Why else would someone pull essentially garbage out of a receptacle at a public restaurant? Did I really stoop that low? I can't believe it, but I honestly did. 5) So this really tops the cake (and is quite embarrassing), however, I really like the tea at this particular establishment, so I save my cup and go back 2-3 times later in the week and refill for free! What a deal! Of course, no one sees me (or so I think) and who cares if one guy gets 6-7 cups of tea for the price of 1? So, these are just several examples form the last week that I can remember. What a loser! Maybe it is time to re-read Two Pillar Man. At least I can then complete the request that David asked me about, you know...checking that one item off the list and then I don't have to think about TPM ever again. Unfortunately...or fortunately...I became convicted of my various "slippages" this past week and was reminded that even in the little things God is calling men to speak the truth (Jachin) and do what we say (Boaz), even if doing what we say costs us. I thought of 2-3 really good excuses for why I did not pay for the item at the hardware store, however, just before I approached the store clerk, the Holy Spirit said simply "TELL THE TRUTH" even if it means being embarrassed. So I did, and the clerk was extremely and pleasantly surprised and thanked me for my honesty. In case you are wondering, the item was a set of brass stair gauges and the cost was $3.98. Was I really going to compromise my integrity for essentially $4 bucks? Through a re-reading of TPM, I learned that God has created us to be better men than this. After work, I am going to pay the difference of the newspaper. I am going to call my neighbor and confirm no charge on the tree. The restaurant receipts (that were not mine) were deposited back into the receptacle, and the tea cup was disposed of. I have 3 boys (now essentially grown men) and I pray that they read TPM and are able to be true men of God, despite their fathers shortcomings. If you find yourself slipping on some of the little things or even some of the weightier issues of life, remember that God sees them as one and the same and this book by David Loveall will help lead you back to a more righteous path. Oh, I almost forgot. What was that one simple task that David asked and that I committed to, but failed for an entire year to do? It was to simply write a short review of Two Pillar Man. That's it. How difficult can it be to keep our word with the little things? Difficult if our base lacks the pillars of Jachin and Boaz. With these pillars in place, we can walk more confidently and secure that our words and actions will please the Lord! I highly recommend this enjoyable, humorous, and insightful book! It has 100% changed my perspective and it will yours as well.

Two Pillar Man The Gospel of the Rocket Story edition by David Loveall Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

What a great reminder of being truthful in our daily lives. We found his real life situations relatable and absolutely hysterical. This blew us away on what a man of integrity he was and the godly stance he took. What a great role model for todays generation. It's refreshing to read about a man of integrity living out the Bible in modern day society. I would strongly recommend this book not only to sit on your bookshelf but to read monthly as a reminder that we can be godly in a godless society. It may hurt once in a while to be truthful but is well worth the sacrifice.
This book is a gentle reminder of what we should be doing in our daily lives. It is a quick read with practical applications throughout! Book was given to me as a gift!
This is a fun read that will help put in prospective those day to day struggles in your spritural walk. It is geared for fathers that need an understanding of their roll as a dad and head of the family.
Truly an eye opening perspective on Solomon's two pillers

God Bless

What an amazing read by a phenomenal author. This short read is filled with principles that a Godly man needs in his tool box daily! Not only did it challenge me, but it has made me strive to be a better man, boyfriend, future husband, and overall friend to my peers! I highly recommend this read to men and women!
Meaningful, applicable and impactful. "Two Pillar Man" provides every man with the principles by which to succeed in every part of life. When living every day by God's truth, you no longer live in ambiguity. You become a man with unwavering character. You stand as the man the God intended you to be. I find that this book is the perfect addition to the curriculum for weekly men's groups and conferences. The writing is straightforward and can be easily digested and internalized.
Remember the last time you were in a situation where you could tell the truth or you could try and wiggle your way out? David Loveall’s book Two Pillar Man helps us see why a man of integrity does not go into the gray areas. Loveall uses the names of the two pillars of Solomon’s temple and the corresponding meaning to help cement this concept. In short always tell the truth, and do what you say you are going to do. This is not just a book of theory, but Loveall weaves in his own hilarious story of when he lit a very large bottle rocket in his back yard, which inadvertently caused some minor damage to his neighbor’s home. When he is confronted with what he has done, he chooses to tell the truth - even though there are a host of gray-area options out there. The book is fun and easy to read, driving home the point that there is no room for compromise.
